In 2008, the Amazon rainforest was facing a deforestation crisis. Norwegians wanted to help their Brazilian friends save one of the Earth’s greatest natural resources, so they promised Brazil $1 billion to reduce the impending threat by 2015. In just seven years, Brazil reduced the destruction rate by over 75%.
Today, the Amazon rainforest is thriving, all thanks to the relentless efforts of Brazil, and the generosity of their friends in Norway.
