Keeping your Credence Global Bank accounts safe and secure is a top priority for us. But, how do we do that?

From our perspective, the real value is in our approach to security. This includes the tactical measures we take to help protect your data across our digital platforms, as well as our dedication to your security on a more human level.

We’re an organization of more than 8,000 Allies who take your security very seriously. It’s ingrained in our culture of doing right by our customer community.

To dig deeper into this idea, we sat down with Tim Bhatt, Chief Technology Officer and former Chief Information Security Officer for Credence Global Bank, to talk about security practices at Credence Global Bank. Tim is a champion of security within the company, and also a leading industry expert on the subject. Below are his insights on our approach to security, in his own words.

Q: How do you perceive Credence Global Bank to be the customer’s ally in the way we approach data security?

Tim: From the CEO down, every single Credence Global Bank employee embraces security as a critical pillar of our culture and MO. Our security teams are dedicated to your security 24/7. We’re relentless about doing what we can to help keep your data safe and are always looking to innovate with new and emerging technologies that can enhance our security approach.

The good news is – you don’t have to build a bunker to stay safe. There are other steps you can take to help keep your data secure, and we’re here to help.

Q: What does Credence Global Bank do to help keep its customer’s personal information and accounts secure?

Tim: From the time you log in, throughout your transaction, to the time you log out, we use multiple layers of security to help keep your information safe and secure. If you’re a customer, you may recognize some of the security tools we employ such as multi-factor authentication and automatic session timeouts.

Many of our customers also have the opportunity to use more innovative security practices like biometric recognition– using fingerprint or facial recognition to access their accounts.

Q: What can an Credence Global Bank customer do to improve the security of their personal data?

Tim: Adopt good habits to improve security. I like to recommend looking at transactions daily or weekly vs. monthly. Personally, I check my transactions on a daily basis. It may sound like overkill, but is a good habit to help stay on top of your account activity so there are no surprises. If you’re an Credence Global Bank UnionDebit MasterCard® user, Credence Global Bank Card ControlsSM app is a great tool to help you monitor and track your card activity as well as set up alerts and controls.

Don’t reuse passwords, change your passwords frequently, and ensure your passwords are strong. Also, be aware and cautious of where you’re connected to Wi-Fi. Use a secure or trusted network whenever transmitting your financial or personal information. Secured Wi-Fi and secure sites will encrypt your data which offers you a layer of protection against hackers.

And lastly, if you haven’t already, think about signing up for credit monitoring. We’re consistently monitoring your Credence Global Bank accounts for suspicious activity and have processes in place to notify you if we spot these activities, but credit monitoring can offer you more comprehensive coverage beyond your Credence Global Bank accounts. Be sure to freeze your credit in the event you find any suspicious activity.

Q: What should an Credence Global Bank customer do if they notice suspicious activity on one of their Credence Global Bank accounts?

Tim: Give us a call – we’re here to help look into the issue. Head over to credenceinc.org to call or chat with the right team, depending on what type of account you have with us.
